Would this laptop be able to play games such as Call of Duty 5, Crysis and Gears of War, games like that? Also, is it good value for money?

That’s a great laptop that can easily run today’s DirectX 10 games that you’ve mentioned (on high quality at max resolution I might approximate!).

However, I’m thinking with that kind of setup you’re breaking the $3.5k Range. You might want to look into the Alienware Laptops for better design and hardware options at this point.

Furthermore, if you want to do some extreme gaming, you may want to opt for a desktop instead. You can get the same components for less AND you have the option of upgrading the components later on (which is sometimes very hard to do on a laptop). A desktop may be more durable and longer lasting as well. Laptops are prone to everyday bumping of transport and overheating if mismanaged. Not to mention that hardcore gaming laptops suck up energy like no tomorrow (meaning you won’t get that much battery life when you’re off the charger).
