burn help . i need it , please (p.s. 14 years old)?
ok, i recently got a lot of 2nd degree burns, i had this serious case of the disease called SJS TEN (google it).
ok, i have a few questions.:
1) best lotions to use
2) burn garment opinion (zippers or no zippers?)
3) will i scar ?
4) if so, how long will it be?
5) if not, how long til my skin gets back to normal?
yes, I have been to doctors, TONS (in the hospital for 40 days). but i wanted an opinion from someone who has been through it, maybe?
I had second and third degree burns when I was fourteen (mostly on my back and because of a shit head in chemistry who mixed chemicals that weren’t supposed to be mixed – my hair caught on fire and burnt my shoulders, part of my chest and down my back. I needed some skin grafts on my shoulders)
[1] I would use any type of lotion that had aloe in it, but avoid using lotion if your skin is cracked or broken – that will just hurt like a bitch
[2] Your best options for clothes right now is anything light, such as cotton or gauze material. I’d avoid buttons, zippers, etc just in case one of them snags the burn
[3] scarring depends mainly on the person. I have minor scarring on my lower back (where I was barely burnt) and also on my shoulders (where I was mostly burnt) – so it all depends, but no where else – and if you do scar use a soap with vitamin e in it EVERYDAY (such as saints ive’s vitamin e body wash) and also use vitamin e oil when you go to bed – it seriously minimizes the scars
[4] scars are easy to avoid though – if you don’t pick at them or when the burns start to bubble don’t pop them, let your doctor do it
[5] again it all depends on the person and their body. someone who is anemic will scar more then someone who isn’t. a paler person might show scars more vividly while a darker person not as much. It all depends.
If the scars are really bad you could possibly have plastic surgery. Good luck to you!
