Rolling Luggage
Can you check in a rolled-up sleeping bag (not in suitcase) as luggage on plane?

My family will be traveling in a couple of days. We have way more stuff than we can carry because I’m going to an internship for the whole summer. We want to check in a rolled-up sleeping bag at the airport as luggage, but we don’t want to put it in any container/suitcase. Is this allowed?

Thanks!

It has to be tied real good so it can not unroll, better put it in a bag. A very cheap duffel bag with a zipper is good, even a sturdy polythene bag will be better than no bag at all.
And it will also keep your sleeping bag from going dirty, which will happen easily with luggage that is checked in.
And remember the maximum number of check-in luggage and the fact that for some airlines you start paying with the first piece.

I have checked in my sleeping bag in its nylon bag/case several times, sometimes alone and sometimes with clothes in the case with the sleeping bag, never had any comments on that.
