Power Button Hinge
What is changing a motherboard?
My Dell Studio 15 was hit by a light that led the power button to exit and a small crack on the hinge. Dell says I need a new motherboard that is $ 200. Does this sound right? I feel like I'm being evasive. When the button Power is extracted, it disconnects the cable attached to it so no way to turn it on. The impact was enough to bring the power button, unplug the cable, leaving a crack in the hinge / upper case. From what I can tell, nothing else is damaged.
That does not sound good at all .. sounds like just the housing exterior was damaged. You do not need more than just the top cover of the lower half of the laptop.
