One Intel
How do I replace a G5 processor with an intel one?
I am fixing up an old Imac g5 and was wondering how to replace the G5 processor with an intel one. I would also like suggestions on anything else I can add to the iMac.
Sorry, but that’s impossible dear. A PowerPC processor’s socket is incompatible with intel processors. It’s a job impossible to do.
Besides, the power envelope of an intel processor is %800 less than that of the PowerPC processors. That simply means, Your PowerPC mac will fry an intel processor even if you could fit one. (Though put quite simply. it’s impossible) hope that clears you out… ^_^
I suggest you save some money and buy yourself the new macs, Their cheaper plus more powerful.
