what about this AMD notebook processor? AMD Phenomâ„¢ II dual-core processor N640*??? Is this fast?

wanna know some gaming performance too… thank you!!!!!

OK, it took me a while to find the specs of that thing. If it was a desktop processor, I’d say it will be really fast and GREAT for gaming. You’d be getting a 2.9GHz dual core phenom, which would make an excellent CPU for just about anything, gaming included. Games respect clock speed, and don’t use more than 1 or 2 cores. So a 2 core processor with high clock speed and lots of cache is going to make a GREAT gaming CPU.

However, nobody gaming should be buying a notebook to play games on. There are so many compromises made when designing a notebook….that even with a good CPU, the game performance is likely to stink.

It would help a lot to know what the video chip is. The notebook might be OK for for most games IF it has a decent video chip and at least 3GB of installed system RAM. Don’t expect high detail or high frame rates from any notebook, though. And that has nothing to do with the processor.
