Computer Freeze with Green Lines, Black on reboot?
I have a fairly old Packard Bell Notebook MX67.
The problem is a freeze, immediately followed by a weird screen full of green lines and other trash on the screen. The first time it happened was when i ran GTA san andreas(laptop was on a leather couch and really hot if this helps). When i reboot, the lappy started but the screen stayed black, even after multiple tries. It worked once, i tried to move files to external HDD, but again with the weird screen.
Then, after a couple of weeks, i cleaned it, leave it on the table with a book wedged in the back and a fan blowing at it. Miraculously, it worked. After a month of use, i tried the PCSX2(ps2 emulator, notorious for its need of high system specs). And guess what, same problem…
Anyone have a clue as to what could be wrong?
Any help appreciated.
Place your hand in front of the heat vents. Do you feel any movement of air? If not, your laptop’s fan may not be operating. Does the laptop pull air into the case from a vent located on the bottom of your laptop?
Using an external fan with the laptop propped up may be a temporary solution, but you have an over heating problem that should be addressed. Laptops are known for having difficulty keeping the internals cool.
