how long does a dell studio 15 laptop works with a 9 cell battery?
as i want the laptop to run for longer hours i thought of going for a 9cell battery instead a 6 cell battery.Moreover according to my survey does the 9 cell battery works for 7-8 hours in a dell studio15 laptop.

you have total misunderstood what is required here, its not extra voltage which is what you would get if you install a 9 cell in place of a 6 cell battery pack.
its about the capacity of the battery like the amp/hours.
the only way that you could achieve this is to carry around a large battery which would keep the laptop running. hence the in car power supplies for laptops.
Its a question of capacity or better still a laptop that consumes less power, and yes there some that run for up to 10 hours but not a laptop like a lower priced DELL.
