Help for dropping phone in water?
Today my Blackberry fell in the toilet, I instantaneously took it and dried it off with a paper towel. The phone worked, the keyboard, trackpad I even picked up a call minutes after dropping it. I took a shower and when I got out the phone was off and wouldn’t turn back on. I have an otterbox case for it so when I took the case off to remove the battery, there was very little moisture there. I wrapped my phone in a paper towel for about 2 hours, then just now I put it in rice. Does my phone stand a chance??
Also, I bought this phone unlocked from new egg, does anybody know off the top of their head whats the deal with warranties?
In short, I doubt it. It could have survived if you had powered it down immediately and then put it in rice overnight. When you left it on the moisture caused it to short out and fry the insides. If it doesn’t work in the morning then it is dead. Don’t try to turn it on until tomorrow though.
