Case Ibm

How to open a case on top of Pad Think back to try to fix the monitor switch?
I have an old IBM think pad, and it seems that the small switch that turns the monitor does not work, I thought I would try to find the best and see if I can do something to fix it but can not figure out how to get it even sfter remove all the screws I could find. And an external monitor can be connected to it just in case. I think it's a Pentium 3.
That little switch you're talking about do not start the monitor. All it does is tells the computer if the laptop lid is open or closed. If you are not getting any video on the monitor, you can almost guarantee that there is due to the switch. Most likely there is some other issue causing the problem. It could be any number things. Try the external monitor, if you are able to use the computer with the external monitor can isolate the problem to the video adapter, the Investor Group, cable or ribbon backlight. From there, you probably will want a professional to see.
