I have a red line on my Dell Vostro 1000 ?
Its a veritical line and is a little invisable on a white page. I am NOT getting a new laptop, I’m pretty sure it’s the video card. I’m under warranty until about December 23-25. I go to an iceskating party and the battery was low, laptop on standby and closed in my case. I go home the next day, open the laptop and BOOM, red line. My mother’s already angry that I had to reinstall windows because of Antivirus XP 2008. All I really need to know is if my warrenty will cover it, what the cause of it is (or how I can find out what it is,I have an E Machines desktop monitor, not on my Vostro), and if it WILL get worse.It isn’t too annoying but I need to know if it will get worse, Bob’s Computers is just dow the street.
try flipping the monitor slowly and see if its disappearing, i have had the same problem. it could be a pixel failure or the connection to the screen that is not properly set in.
i was lucky to have a nice insurance.
check up on your insurance and contact dell about this.
