Can “Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for Mac” be smoothly played on an Apple MacBook laptop?
I have read that some people are successfully playing some of the 3D graphics-heavy video computer games on MacBooks despite the fact they have no dedicated video memory cards. PLEASE let me know if this is possible for sure, as its the ONE thing I’d like to do on my new laptop (I’m about to buy) that I’ve been unable to confirm. I’ve called Apple and emailed Aspyr with no definitive answers from either. Thanks!
Sure, it can run some graphic intensive games, it just depends on how much video RAM the game calls for. As long as you have enough system RAM to allocate for video RAM, your game will run smoothly. I’ve seen videos on YouTube of some pretty intense games running on a MacBook. If you can afford to upgrade the RAM from the 512MB base, you’ll be fine. The more RAM, the better. It’s that simple. The graphics hardware works pretty good, just has to have enough memory available to it. 512MB might not cut it for some of the intense games, but it should be enough for Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. From what I’ve seen, people with the maximum amount of MacBook RAM have no trouble running the most demanding games.
