How hard is it? Does an iBook G4 get wireless internet?
Assuming that both machines are Macs, and that both machines have FireWire, the absolutely simplest and fastest way to transfer anything between the two is to use FireWire target disk mode (see link below). With that approach, the iBook will just appear to be another drive on the desktop Mac’s desktop, and you can drag and drop files as you please.
